The elegant ‘Golden Bell’ was originally created in 1937 by Aino and Alvar Aalto for the interior of The Savoy Restaurant in Helsinki and went on to be shown in the Finnish Pavilion of the Paris World Expo the same year. The elegant restaurant is still home to the iconic Pendant Light A330S, which was relaunched in an updated form.
The Savoy Edition with solid brass shade and black textile cord is similar to the ones found at Restaurant Savoy to this day.
The sculptural quality with streamlined aesthetic can be appreciated whether the light is switched on or off. The perforated rim creates a memorable halo effect.
