The A331, nicknamed ‘Beehive’, is one of Alvar Aalto’s most recognizable and beloved lighting designs. Beehive creates a warm, diffuse light due to the ingenious design with several rows of perforated steel rings. The lamp retains its distinctive sculptural presence even when unlit. Beehive was originally designed for Finland’s University of Jyväskylä and is suitable for homes and public spaces.
