The architect and designer Alexander Girard was one of the leading figures of American design in the postwar period. He expressed his passion for colours, patterns and textures completely in the textile designs that were an essential part of his oeuvre.
In his work, Girard added motifs from folk to abstract patterns. Many of his designs have a cheerful playfulness and the vibrant colours give even the simplest graphic forms a great deal of character. In the Graphic Print Pillow collection a part of his designs have been brought back to life.
