The New York textile company Maharam produces top quality fabrics. The Vitra Maharam Classic Pillows pillow collection includes designs of some of the most important designers and architects of the 20th century. The decorative cushions are perfectly matched and can also be combined beautifully with other cushions and fabrics.

Like many prominent twentieth-century architects and designers, Charles and Ray Eames also expressed their ideas about colours, shapes and materials in the design of textiles. The Dot Pattern was made in 1947 for an exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and is a reference to the abstract paintings of Ray Eames in the 1930s.

Cushions
Keep pillows in shape by regularly shaking them. Wash and iron cushion covers without pad and inside out. Not all covers are suitable for washing or ironing, always consult the washing instructions on the label, if available, or ask us.

Fabrics
Characteristics and general maintenance of the most common fabrics:

Cotton
Cotton is a natural material that is absorbent and breathable. Most cotton items can be washed at low temperatures. Wash dark items in plenty of water with similar colors, especially the first few times. Dark colored cotton can fade over time by sunlight, washing and daily use. This is considered normal.

Silk
Silk is a very beautiful but also delicate natural material. Cushions of silk are especially suitable as a decorative cushion and not for heavy use. Sunlight can weaken fibers and fade colors. We recommend to only wash when absolutely necessary, and in plenty of water with a special detergent for silk. Dark colors can come off; dry as well as wet. Dry cleaning is therefore advised.

Linen
Linen is a natural material made from flax. Wash linen in plenty of water at a maximum of 40 degrees Celsius. Wash dark items with similar colors, especially the first few times. Preferably dry linen on the clothesline, but not in the sun. Steam-iron on slightly damp linen, preferably on the inside. Irregularities are considered normal and emphasize the natural character of linen.

Velvet
Velvet is a vulnerable fabric with a special shine. To maintain that, we advise to dry-clean velvet.

Synthetic fibers
Synthetic fabrics are durable and retain their color well. Washing and ironing is only possible at low temperatures.
